Registry with BBB

Registry with BBB

Hey gals. SO I registered at BBB a few months back, 30 things out of 130 have been purchased , but that includes multiple towels, dish towels, kitchen towels, etc. I have been told by my mother and my FML that most of the things they wanted to buy for me were not in the stores and were only available online, even though we registered for a lot of the items in store. Anyways, they said that they would not ship store to store and would only ship to their home for 7 dollars. I think for most younger people this isn't a problem, but I think the older generation doesnt like ordering online as much. My shower is in 2 weeks, and as much as I have tried NOT to snoop , I just noticed that most of my bigger tickets items (pots and pans, coffee maker, etc ) has not been purchased. BBB told me that I can not tell what is online only , but they can from their computer. Is it to late to switch some stuff around? Do people wait till last minute to purchase things? Anyone have a similar experience?

THANKS!

the same thing happened with me, and i think its a function of registering far in advance...when we registered it was in store, but then within a month or two it was online only. You can def switch things up now...when my shower came around 70% of gifts were purchased the week before the shower so go for it! the good thing is bbb is great with returns, so you can always return your smaller items to get one of the larger items you need.

we decided to remove a lot of small items in hopes of getting gift cards that we could use for the larger things (pot sets etc) and that is exactly how it worked out!

I don't think it's too late to change. A lot of people buy gifts the week of the shower. My FMIL almost is always buying her gifts the day of! You should love what you get!

When I went to buy a registry gift that was 'online only', the consultant was able to order it for me, have it shipped (to the bride) for free, and he let me use my 20% off coupon! He then got one of those gift boxes to put a card saying the actual gift is in the mail so I wouldn't go to the shower empty-handed! <--this was free as well

It might have been the store your mom/MIL went to, or the consultant, but it doesn't hurt for them to ask about it!

I always wait to the last minute to buy gifts for showers. I would give it a try and add stuff that is available in the store. If anything I'm sure you can return whatever you don't want for what you do want and I'm sure you will get tons of gift cards.

Thanks ladies, I went to BBB and switched some stuff around. We had someone send 5 things to the house last month which I opened assuming they were not coming, but now I find out they are ? Why did they ship it here and not to their own house? Now I feel like I have to go and purchase the items, and open in at my shower and act suprised, geesh!

If they ship it to your house, you can most definitely open it when you receive it. Just make an announcement at your shower and thank them and any other guests who sent their gifts ahead! HTH!

I would definitely change things up. Go to a more popular Bed Bath (like Westbury). You can print your registry there and it will tell you if its an online purchase only. Our hand mixer is an online only item and we still dont have it. I am so bummed (as if I didnt get enough lol). We plan to just get it ourselves. But yes, most shower gifts are bought last minute so get in there girl!
