We're starting to get back no's, and my best friend said that I should have expected this since it'll be on a Sunday. I'm really starting to wish we shelled out the extra money or booked a smaller space with a lower minimum to have it on a Saturday. I feel horrible

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
Whats so wrong with a Sunday wedding? If people have work the next morning they can leave early...People who care about you will make it no matter what, its wrong of your friend to say that. People could skip a friday wedding because of work, or day weddings because its too early...
People are going to complain about everything, you need to do what makes you happy. I'm sorry you're getting back a lot no's, but weddings can really show you people's true colors, I've learned that having a lot of Out of Towners.
I've regretted my decisions on venue, location, and time several times, but its done and you picked the choice you wanted at the time, and its going to be wonderful no matter what.

First, your best friend s ucks for saying that. I have never once RSVPd no to a wedding based on the date.
Second, im having a Saturday night wedding and guess what people STILL complain! one thing I have learned in this planning process is people truly s uck!
Finally, dont feel horrible... your day will be fabulous!

THIS!!!!! I THINK NO MATTER WHAT TIME OR DAY YOUR WEDDING IS ON, IF THE PPPL YOU INVITE WANT TO COME TO THE WEDDING IT WILL NOT MATTER. I also started to regret that my wedding was so early in the day 12pm..I felt horrible to have ppl wake up so early on a saturday but I got over it.

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
What time is the wedding?
Mine is in the daytime on a SATURDAY and I still got some 'no's' from people I thought would definitely be there. No matter what, there will always be people who can't make it and it can be disappointing when it's those who you really want there.

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
I felt the same as you about a month ago. We are having a Sunday wedding and we are getting in our RSVP's and even though some are NO's who cares? The people who are going to be there are the people who you should want to be there since thats who apparently cares about you and FH the most! Make the best of the situation... it not worth it to stress about something that is already done!

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
the truth is, there is NO 'safe day' for your wedding anymore. ppl work all different days, everyone does not work mon-fri 9-5, but whoever WANTS to be there will. your wedding will be beautiful dont even stress over those ppl that are saying no.

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
Ditto to everything everyone else has already said. I read this great book, 'A Practical Wedding,' that addresses this exact problem. Everyone who is MEANT to be there that day, WILL be there. If people can't make it, that does not necessarily mean they don't care about you or they are bad friends. Life is hard and sometimes things get in the way or cloud our judgement. But your day will be fantastic because in the end you will be married to the man you love...and isn't that what is most important?

People are going to complain no matter when you have your wedding. The people who are the most important will be there regardless of what day of the week it was.

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
Please don't feel horrible. No matter what you will always find someone to say something. You can't please everyone, and you shouldn't have to. You picked out a beautiful venue, date and everything else between. The people who want to be there will be there whether it be a Sunday or a Monday, or whatever day and time. Just remember you and your FH are getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

I am also having a Sunday wedding. I cannot believe your friend would say that! No matter when your wedding is people are always going to end up complaining! If they are worried aboout work they will leave early. Do not let anyone talk you out of or discourage you from your discission.

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
People are going to complain no matter what you do. I have no issues with a Sunday. If I had a Sunday wedding and I couldn't take the next day off I would leave a little early or suck it up and party all nite!
Enjoy your day no matter what!!

There is nothing wrong with a Sunday wedding. The important people will make an effort to come to your wedding. Do not let this get you down. Sounds like an excuse!!

Thanks ladies! I just have this feeling that we should have made it a Sat and spent the extra $4,000. This may be another 'stupid decision Kathryn made' that's going to bother me for a while.

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
I don't say no to a friend's sunday wedding. That was horrible of them to say. Don't regret it. I am doing a friday day wedding so everyone has to take off of work to go to mine. I don't feel bad because its what we can afford.
