We're starting to get back no's, and my best friend said that I should have expected this since it'll be on a Sunday. I'm really starting to wish we shelled out the extra money or booked a smaller space with a lower minimum to have it on a Saturday. I feel horrible

Thanks ladies! I just have this feeling that we should have made it a Sat and spent the extra $4,000. This may be another 'stupid decision Kathryn made' that's going to bother me for a while.
Don't you dare say that. It was a wise decision to marry the person you love while saving money! OH BOY! The Brentwood in me is about to come out right now. Let me tell you something. I have a Sunday wedding and let ANY of my friends or family tell me no because it's on a Sunday and they'll have their *** handed to them! If they work...I understand (not really since they have a year to take off but it's still a good reason depending on the job.) If there is a trip planned 2 years ahead (yeah right) I understand. But unless one of them is psychic and can predict a huge emergency their arse better be there.
Maybe the people that said no are not really close to you? Like I might invite 7 coworkers...if one or two of them said no would I really feel herrendous? No...but if someone close to me said No I might question that. Don't feel bad. If they really, really care about you and want to be there for you they will go. And if they are a really close friend or family member ask them why they said No when you talk to them or see them again. People always tell me I am too upfront but I'm just honest. If something bothers me I find out the reason. You might hear something you didn't know about. Sometimes people even say no because they feel bad that they cant give a propoer gift becuase times are tough. You really never ever know. Say my son had a national championship baseball game and my cousin invited me to her wedding. What could I do?? Tell my son no he can't go or I won't watch him play so that I can go to my cousins wedding? See what I mean? Sometimes people are put in a hard place and are forced to say no. No worries!! Your wedding is going to be amazing because your FH is going to be there with the closest people to you and even if 50 people show up make it the best day of your life!!! xoxoxoxo

Re: Regretting Sunday wedding
I wouldn't stress. I felt the same as you when I 1st started to consider my Sunday night wedding (no holiday on Monday) but when FH sat down and discussed it we knew that the ppl who REALLY mattered will be there no matter what day or time. Those that can't make it or won't because its Sunday then I see it as great, 1 less plate I have to pay for. Don't feel bad about your decision. U did what was right for you and your FH. I def wouldn't have spent 4k extra just to accommodate your complaining guests!

Thanks Brentwood ladies and everyone else! yeah, when people asked why we're having it on a Sunday, I said 'hey, do you want to pay for it?'
I don't see why people can't just take a sick or personal day on Monday and enjoy staying at the Marriott. There's an aquarium there, a aquarium! but feeling a lot better in large part to all of your comments.
