I was considering using a local florist for my wedding. I only need bouquest/bouts and rose petals so I think it could work for me. If you used a regular florist - were they cheaper than the big name wedding florists? Any advice???

Re: Regular Florist for a wedding?
I'm thinking the same thing since the centerpieces come with the hall. I am only have 2 BMs and 1 MOH.. I can't imagine it being more expensive. Any thoughts?

First florist I've visited was our local florist. However, she is also a vendor for one of the catering halls on LI. Anyway, her quote is reasonable and I trust her because she's the owner and she'll be the one doing the flowers. She did the flowers for my e-party and they were gorgeous. But, I'm still going to shop around and get other quotes.

I got some quotes over FM from the popular inexpensive florists that people always talk about. To me the prices were just OK. I am going to go to some local florists then and see what they have to offer.

I know some are like that...but I have heard of one where my FMIL used to work that she claims is really inexpensive...We'll see!

Well, you know about Donald, right? He'll do Bride, MOH, 1 BM, 2 Mothers, all Boutioneers for $185. Your choice flowers. 718-429-9400, 718-672-7714, 1-800-654-0257. 92-32 Queens Blvd., Rego Park, NY
There are also other people on my page.
Also, you can try Shop and Stop - people have had good experiences there.

Yes I heard about Donald. Honestly the thing that is stopping me is I don't have the time to go to Queens.

julz33...that's what I did and the $$ is great...it's the family florist that FMIL uses for EVERYTHING....if anything...ask them to make samples or for references
