I think regular video is more documentary style -- it goes in sequence. Cinematic is more like a movie trailer - it tells the story by patching up the full day into different pieces that all tell one perfect story, versus just being a direct movie of your day. Re: Regular Video vs Cinamatic
To be honest, I wasn't thinking cinematic at all. I was used to your standard wedding videography and FH and I were on the fence on whether we were even going to bother. BUT THEN...a co-worker sent FH a link to Still Motion to just check out their work (they are located in Canada and are like a million dollars)...and holy crap...they were awesome!!! So now we wanted cinematic but at a decent cost b/c pictures were still more important than video. Well I am with Adelz....Myther Ganibe is the way to go! His work is amazing and so affordable compared to some of these other cinematic videographers. He can do 12, 20 or 30 minute videos and really...you don't need more than 30 minutes! After seeing his work and then meeting with some non-cinematic photo/video guys, there is no comparisson! Plus, he is such a great guy that FH and I knew the second we sat down with him that we wanted to book! HTH and good luck!

don't worry... there are plenty of good cinematographers out there, if that's what you want - just keep calling around.
i used ray estrada from timeless films - you could try him. he did my friend's wedding which is how i first learned of cinematography. the trailer was amazing!
let us know how you make out! :)
