Rehearsal date?

When is everyone's rehearsal date? What is customary? My FIL's say its the night before the wedding, is this true...does it have to be? I just don't know I dont' want it to be a 'late' night the night before I get married. Although I prob won't get too much sleep anyway b/c I'll be stressing over everything.

i am ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NOT doing that. . .

i think that is traditional - but i will be taking a bubble bath the night before my wedding. . . and that will be the extent of my evening. seriously.

My brother had his the night before the wedding - it ended at 9pm but then we got stuck behind a fire truck and didn't get home until 3am - no one got any sleep and it was horrible!

I will be doing it a week before. . .at least. I would have it two weeks before but that is New Year's in my case!

I have been to plenty that arent the night before - do what you want to!

We are doing ours the night before...

We are having ALOT of OOT guests, many of them are in the BP! So were cramming everything into the Lindsay and Jason wedding weeking fri- bachelor/bachelorette parties, sat- rehersal, sun eve- wedding!

FIL's are from Westchester and the reception is in LI but I don't consider that too OOT right? So I don't think it would be that big of a deal to go back and forth.

i wouldnt consider it that far either... how far is the drive between?

see this is causing me a problem!

My wedding is the saturday after easter. Ideally I'd like to have my rehersal the friday BEFORE easter but that's good friday...church won't do it.

As a matter of fact the church won't do it at all Easter weekend starting with Thursday going all the way through to Sunday (understandable, it is easter after all)

So me and FH figure fine, We'll have it the monday after easter....(which would be the monday before the wedding)

until we realized that the restaurant that we really want to have it at is closed on mondays!

now we're contemplating having it on the Tuesday before the wedding instead but it's still all up in the air

The drive is def an at least an hour + 15/20 mins. I just called my church and they said that it is very unsual for people to do it the week before. So I tentively booked for the Thursday (week of) my weddings on Sat. My only concern now is people that have work on Friday is that going to be way too much of a hassle for them???

I'm prob going to have to change it to Friday b/c FIL's want to stay at a hotel out on the island the night before and of. Arghh..don't know what to do?!

IMO it may be a lil much to drive back and forth in the 3 days... its not a far drive at all which is why i think its okay to space it out and i would if you could.. just because the church said it is unusual.. doesnt mean you cant

The wednesday before easter crossed my mind but then I figure the priest who is marrying us is probably going to be busy getting his own church ready for the easter celebrations as he is pastor of a very large parish in whitestone

I didn't want to have to make the BP come out on a week night after work for the rehersal (though i've done it when i was in BP's before) cause i thought it would be too much of an inconvenience for them but at this point it doesn't look like i have many other options. ..

my wedding is on a saturday.. my rehearsal is thursday before which will also be our 8 year anniversary

i dont think its a problem to have it the night before just have it early enough so that everything is done by 9:30 ish.. so you can have down time maybe you can talk them into coming in thursday and staying 2 nights in a hotel..
