I just printed them up on my computer. It is cheaper and more personal. You can get the paper and matching envelopes for less than $10.

In case you decide not to make them, I have seen them in Party City. They are down the wedding aisle. Near the baby shower invites and the bridal shower invites. They had a few varieties.

I cant say I blame you!! I am making our favors and .... wow... time consuming! Less work, less stress. They had a few kinds too. I was at the one in North Babylon but I am sure they all have them!!

What did you make for your favors? I took little clay flower pots (little as in 1 1/2 inch and 1 inch pots) and I am melting wax and turning them into candles. Its kinda fun and they look great but 3 hours for 10 candles is a bit much. But its less time I have to worry about the wedding plans! What are you making for the church? Are you doing the programs? I will do them down the road... Need to get the candles done so I can stare at 200 candles and worry where to put them until Sept! Almost hate to say it but, I kinda cant wait until its over. Or at least the day of. I think I can deal with that day more than now.

I am using the same flower pots you are but they are clear glass, I am using them for the place cards I'll have the placecard sticking out on the top on a stick, and I put hyndragia flowers in them, of course fake but they look so good, I am getting married in May so I thought it was nice for the Spring, I also have Ivy Bowls as the favors I filled those with spring colored potpourri and wrapped them in clear bags then put a tag on them with our names and date, It was allot of work but well worth it. September will be here before you know, I kept saying I have time, but its snuck up on me, now I am rushing and thats not fun, so do everything as early as you can, and have fun doing it! I am not sure if I am doing programs or not, I am still thinking about, well see how much time I have left. Oh, I am making little wreathes with daises on them instead of pew bows. Sorry so long!

Sounds lovely!! I am so excited for you! It is hard work but well worth it. We are printing up little sticky tags for the bottom of the pots that will say made especially for you by bride and groom. My little way of telling everyone we did it but yet not being like LOOK WHAT WE DID. They sound so lovely and it will be so exciting to see everyones reaction! You dont need programs. You are doing so much already! We made up our whole ceremony so thats the only reason I want to do them. Just so people know when it ends. I almost feel bad having everyone sitting there not knowing how much longer. You have to put a pic up of how your stuff looks! I would love to see them.

I would say making up your own ceremony is most definitly hard, how did you do that? Thats what will make your wedding so personal, I am sure it is going to be Wonderful! Where are you getting married? You just made up my mind, I am not doing programs I think I needed someone to tell me that and I really dont have the time, I felt I had too but you are right I do not have to, Thanks!!! I'll try to post some pics I never did it before I'll see if I can do it tonight.

I would love to see the pics of them!! We are getting married at the East Wind and they recommended the person who is marrying us. Very nice couple who help you pick out sayings, readings, we have different vows to each other, unity candle and rose ceremony. I love it because it was not the traditional- do you take... to honor and obey (yeah right). The reverands wife had a bunch of choices we could choose from or we could make our own. We did a little of both. I know what you mean about having to do stuff but really, making the favors, programs, adding additional deserts...nothing we need to do but we all want to. Now I know the feeling people say that you wish you were a guest at your own wedding instead of the one having it!! Where are you getting married? Are you nervous? Worried? Or just too busy to be anything?

I love East Wind, it looks beatuiful, I have seen pictures but have never been there. What is a rose ceremony? I think everyone wants to make there wedding different and thats what makes them so fun, you are certainly doing a great job at it. In a way I cant wait until its over I am looking forward to the Honeymoon though, I am getting married at the Steart Manor Country Club, its a very cozy place I was never into the marble/tile look I am very plain so it was perfect, and there is only one wedding at a time which is what I wanted, I am getting more worried then nervous you just want everything to be perfect. I tried to scan the photos but I could not get it to work, I will have my brother help me out.

I havent seen Stewart Manor but I have heard wonderful things about it! It should be great!! One wedding is nice, you know the focus is on your day and they wont send your food to the other party- however if the other party have a better menu and you get it... just kidding! I love the East Wind, we were going to go to Fox Hollow but the room count was off, one too big, one too small. Harrison House we really wanted and since my mothers friend is the manager there it would have been great but still way to much money. But I am very happy with East Wind. FI thinks its a bit too flowery for him but hes fine with it. The rose ceremony is becoming popular now- you get 2 artificial roses (we are doing 2 real and 2 fake so one lasts and one is just for the day), during the ceremony you give yours to his mother and he gives his to your mom. It symbolizes your entry to the family and your appreciation to the parents. Its really sweet. We are surprising the mothers with it. Its nicer that way. We are also doing the dove release but FI doesnt know about it. Thats my little gift to him. I found out in a roundabout way that he is going to sing to me during the reception!! The singing lesson place called because he missed a class. I played dumb like I didnt hear the message though. Dont get worried. It will all work out fine. If something goes wrong, its out of your control and dont let it ruin your day. Besides, no one really knows what your planning on that day so they wont really know if it goes wrong. Thats how I am trying to stay calm. Someone also told me make sure during the ceremony and reception to take a step back and just watch for a minute or two. She said if you do, you will really get a sense of fulfillment. When your trying to coordinate it all that day, you dont enjoy it. But stop, look around and listen to the sounds around you. She said when she did it, it changed the whole day for her for the better. Sorry so long!

The rose ceremony sounds beaytiful, they are sure to be surprised, what a tear jerker! That is so sweet he is singing to you my fi would never do that, you gotta keep us posted and let us know how he did. The dove's sound really nice I've heard of people doing it but never actually saw it being done, it should be wondeful, your guests will be in for a great day and so will you. Every time I think about what the day will be like, its very emotional, definitly take a step back and watch I keep telling myself that, I think by far that is the best advice, b/c it does go so fast. East Wind is definitly not to flowery that is such a guy thing to say, the place really is beautiful, Lots of Luck and Happy Planning!!!

Thank you!! He might chicken out in singing so I am not really counting on it. Once he sees 200 eyes looking at him... actually more, 400 eyes (2 for each person hehe). The rose ceremony only takes about 2 minutes, see if you can fit it in if you like it. I saw the doves on A Wedding Story on Lifetime and it looked nice. 12 doves for $100 is the perfect price for me and we each get to hold one. Fi will think its a waste of money until he sees it so thats why I am mainly not telling him:) At this point what is $100 more?? Good luck to you too! I cant wait to hear how it turns out!!

There are 3 people out there who do them. We are using Frank at Wedding Wings. He was nice and the price was right, one other company was booked and the other (cant think of them either but they have been mentioned here) was $275 too expensive but they have poems and readings to go with it. Franks phone number is 631-289-6473.Welcome New Vendors
