Who gets invited to the rehearsal dinner? Does it have to be all out town guests? If so, what about local relatives?
Any ideas for a reasonably priced place anywhere near Plainview?
Thanks!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
usually its bridal party, and anybody else part of the ceremony such as readers, fg and rb and their parents. For family you can do grandparents and any very close family members that you want there but you dont really have to.
Many people do invite out of town guests, but will also depend on when you do it, for example some people have the rehearsal dinner a week before or a few days before and most out of town guests wont be there that much before.
Here is how I did it. First i'll also say we didnt really have many out of town guests, just a few and most were coming in the day before or morning of the wedding and our RD was the thursday before and wedding day on saturday.
Bridal party and their significant others, ALTHOUGH quite a few members of our bridal party in relationships came alone bc their wife or fiancee or whatever was working or for some reason couldn't make it so not everybody came with their SO, plus we also had single bridal party members
FG and RB plus their parents. However, our RB's father was also a groomsman so he and his wife would've been there regardless. The FG's mother came but father was working and couldn't come.
My grandmother and uncle.
Our 2 readers and their spouses, we had 3 readers but the 3rd reader was out of town and didnt come until morning of the wedding.
we did have 1 out of town guest whom we invited to the RD. She was the daughter of one of our readers, and the reader is dh's parents best friend.
our parents of course lol
total it was about 40-45 people

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
What I'm doing is just basically the Bridal Party (as well as their significant others), My immediate family & his, Probably Grandma if she's up to it (healthwise), My Readers and their family (OOT family). And that's basically it that i can think of. I don't think I want much more than that. Kinda like to keep things small Especially for the RD, I want it very intimate since the wedding won't be as much, ya know? But You can do whatever you want really, because i remember my sister having a LOT of people at hers. She also had a much bigger wedding than i'm having though. It's just our different personalities & preferences.
we are just having those involved in the ceremony and there guests....which is already a lot!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
We invited all of FH's out of town relatives (they flew in from Europe so we figured it was the least we could do) and also my family. We didn't have a bridal party. It ended up being 45 people.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner
I think that tradition is to invite out of towners but it's so expensive that we're not. Immediate family, grandparents, and BP with dates and that's it for us.

same here. our whole families are OOT so that would get completely out of hand. just the BP + spouses, siblings, parents and grandparents. We are having it the night before so most OOT guests will be in already and we are planning on meeting up with them back at the hotel afterwards to hang out for a bit, which is where i am staying anyways that night so it works out.

How about Cool FIsh in Syosset for the RD? The food is AMAZING and they have a private room.
