Rehearsal Dinner
as you may recall there was a whole bunch of issues with FMIL in January right after the shower. as a reminder she told FH & I that she could no longer afford the flowers for the wedding & the rehearsal dinner list had to be cut to the bare minimum (which she decided was 18 adults & 3 children).
her list read as follows:
FH & I
Her & her boyfriend
my parents
FHs grandmother
4 bridesmaids
5 groomsmen
my brother & SIL & the 3 children
which ment that the MOH & bridesmaids (my sister & cousins) where not allowed to bring their boyfriends. btw one of my cousins is married so it would be her husband. this was going to put me in a horrible position but since I do not have the money to pay for the additional 4 people I was going to have to deal with it. & since FH has to step up & pay for all the flowers so his mother doesn't look like an @ss, I was not going to ask him to lay out the extra money.
Then 2 weeks later she says that she really can't afford to include my brother, SIL & the kids, to which thank God FH dealt with by saying that the kids need the rehearsal.
Fast forward to last weekend:
My cousin & her husband invited all of the cousins & the boyfriends to their house for dinner. I was having a heart attack the entire night petrified that someone was going to ask about the rehearsal dinner. Luckily no one did.
So last night I reminded FH that next Saturday we have Pre-Cana & we need to figure out whats going on with the rehearsal. He tells me that all of a sudden FMIL wants to have the rehearsal during the week. This is something that I am dead set against. I am exhausted after work during the week, my sister has night classes in school & the 3 kids are not going to listen to anything after they had school & homework & they have to get up for school the next day. FH agreed & then he said I also decided that my mother has to invite the bridesmaids with dates because it really puts 'us' into an awkward situation.
needless to say I am super happy that everything is going to work out.
