Rehearsal Dinner at home?
Anyone else having their rehearsal dinner at their home? Grooms family is not involved in the wedding so the cost of the dinner falls on us so are planning just to have a bbq in the backyard to keep down costs.

Rehearsal Dinner at home?
We aren't- but I think that's a great idea. IMO it will probably be more fun than going to a restaurant everyone loves a summer BBQ :)

Rehearsal Dinner at home?
I think its such a good idea. That would be my first choice for a rehearsal dinner but a BBQ in March wouldn't go over too well. If I was in a warm weather month I would do it for sure! So much more fun than a restaurant!

Rehearsal Dinner at home?
I think it's a great idea. When my best friend got married, they had it catered at her in-laws house (the bridal party was huge lol). It was great and relaxing.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner at home?
I've been considering doing this also. We haven't really had a straight answer from FH's parents if they are offering to pay for the RD or not. They kind of mentioned it in passing but it wasn't clear on if they were paying. They are very last minute about everything and never give straight answers so it's making me nervous and I want to just plan it myself lol so i sort of like the BBQ idea too.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner at home?
We are having our rehearsal dinner at our house. All of my family will be flying in from out of state (I don’t have anyone in NY), so my mom and Grandma will be cooking up a storm. I want everyone to be relaxed and this will give me chance to catch up with my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc. without being stuck in one chair the whole night.

Rehearsal Dinner at home?
i was debating on having our RD at home too. My wedding is on a Friday so maybe if we have the option of doing the Rehersal the friday before, it will be a nice way for everyone to relax. I would have it catered, maybe by my brother who owns his own deli. Like everyone said, its better than having everyone sit in a chair for the rest of the night.

I fI had a decent backyard I would SO to a low-key BBQ. Cost are definitely low!! There are some chefs you can hire to BBQ for the duration of the RD for affordable prices...my FH cousins used a girl a few times and all the meat was cooked just right and juicy!

This! My FH's sister always hosts a huge 4th of july bash and hires a cook to BBQ all day. That way you arent glued to the grill and your guests can enjoy themselves.

Rehearsal Dinner at home?
Thanks everyone! Im hoping we can have it the week before as well so everyone can just relax. I think it definitely is more relaxing at home. After doing our wedding budget last night my FH said what about the food for the rehersal dinner and I told him we are going to Costco and getting hamburgers and hot dogs and Ill make baked zita and some veggies and ths going to have to be good enough for everyone cause thats all we can afford lol
