Rehearsal dinner - Brooklyn

I'm trying to find a location for my rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal is in Park Slope and I'd prefer something in the Slope, but we'd be willing to go to a nearby neighborhood since choices seem limited. We want a private or semi-private space that can accomodate approx 40 people.

The places we've checked out so far are Tutta Pasta, Two Boots, and Magnolia, but none worked out. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Re: Rehearsal dinner - Brooklyn

I had a party at Magnolia (12th St &6th Avenue) .... good food and reasonable prices. A perfect size for 40.

12th Street Cafe also might be a good fit for your party but they are probably more expensive than Magnolia.

There is a french restaurant called Moutarde on 5th Avenue that is adorable.

Sotto Voce is another option. Blue Ribbon and Al di La are pretty nice options as well.

Edited to add: Sorry, i didnt see that you had already checked magnolia. Why didnt those places work out? Maybe I can think of some different kinds of places if I knew what you didnt like of those.

We actually love Magnolia, but for a Friday night, their minimum bill is $5k which is beyond our budget. So we were hoping to find a place with some kind of private room where they wouldn't have to close down the restaurant.

Hmmm.. I know the restaurant that used to be cucina had a private room but their prices are quite high.

I don't know of any other restaurants that have a private room in park slope but there must be some. If think of any, I'll let you know.

Re: Rehearsal dinner - Brooklyn

I haven't been there in a while, but we were thinking about checking out Tonio's on 7th Ave between 7th and 8th streets, they have a room upstairs.

Unfortunately that is all I can help you with since I rarely go out to eat by my house and when we do it's Snookys.

I went to an anniversary party at Circles, in the middle room, at Bartle Pritchard Sq, corner of 9th ave and Prospect Park SW. The food was great, I dont know about the prices, though
