Ok this is our situation.... We're getting married on a Saturday night and our church said they don't do rehearsals usually, but IF we wanted one, they would do it on the Friday night before the wedding after 8:00pm only. Well that means 8:00pm rehearsal w/ the church and then dinner reservations at like 9:00pm near the church. Do I really want to be eating dinner that late the NIGHT before I get married? If I do it on the Thursday night before the wedding then I would be inconveniencing my entire wedding party being they all live on Long Island and the rehearsal is in Brooklyn. Make sense? Help!!!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner help
My church only does rehearsals on Thursdays. We are having the rehearsal on Thursday. Most people are coming into town Thursday evening and relaxing on Friday and the wedding is Saturday.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner help
how about doing the dinner beforehand- at like 5? this way you can be guaranteed to be done by dinner in time to go to the church to rehearse. the people in your BP can hang around to rehearse, and the OOT guests can go to their hotels.

That may be a better idea. People can leave work earlier on Friday for a 5:00pm dinner. Do you know what it's like to have the entire BP living on LI or CT and they complain about going to Brooklyn...its insane! Why do i even worry about it so much?! Thanks, I may try that idea and run it by the FH.

I agree. We're having our rehearsal at 6pm and RD at 7:30. People are definitely going to have to leave work early regardless. The only person in our BP who lives on Long Island is my 15 year old cousin (and this includes FH and I) so I'm thinking a lot of people will take off the whole day.

If you really wanted the rehearsal, I would definitely go with this option and it works out perfectly if you do have any OOT guests.

Don't forget though, I can't do the church rehearsal until after 8:00pm the night before the wedding. Is that too late? Will I be wishing I did it the Thursday night? Just asking because I know that some people say the night before the wedding you're running around still trying to get things done and in order. Thanks girls

Re: Rehearsal Dinner help
Rehearsal usually only takes about a half hour to an hour. Maybe you can talk to the priest about doing a speed rehearsal, to ensure everyone gets out by 8:30. Personally, I don't think it's too late.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner help
It's definitely not too late, especially if you do the dinner first. Our church blocks off 30 minute slots for the rehearsal.
You'd be out later if you had an earlier rehearsal and a later dinner!
