I need help with the Rehearsal Dinner. We will be having about 30-40 people between the bridal party and a few out of town guests. We have rehearsal at St.Mary's in East Islip...and our hotel that we will all be staying at is the Hyatt WIndwatch in Hauppauge. Originally we were planning on doing the rehearsal dinner in the Hauppuage Area so that we wouldn't have far to drive after the party ( especially after a few glasses of wine) But we haven't found any nice places!
So far we looked at : San Marco - (didn't have a private room and smelled strange) Mario Restaurant-had a private room but was a little dark and the person who worked there was kinda of rude and didn't really seem to care that we were interested at all. Siempre Vivolo-too small-couldnt accomodate us.
So now I guess its going to have to be closer to the church..
Any suggestions ???

Pomodorino in Hauppauge, it's about 4 miles from the Hyatt, the food is awesome, and it's reasonably priced.

we had ours at san marco as well.. It was REALLY good... I dont know what the smell was, we used to go there often when I lived on LI..never smelled anything...
anyway, Just in case... what we did was put up a partition in the room so it was a sep. room and it worked out really well!
Orlando did such a great job for us!

I don't know what the smell was either at San Marco ...my fh thought they may have just had the rugs cleaned. Orlando was so sweet and he really caters to you when you come in, But I really want a place with a private room . I just feel like it will be more intimate and private.

we are going to have our rehearsal dinner at The Garden Grille in Smithtown on N. Country Road...they are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is really nice
