I'm pretty much clueless still with some of this wedding stuff. We are not having a rehearsal as we are not getting married at a church and you don't really need to do much rehearsing from what I am told if you are getting married at the venue. Because of this, do we still need to have a rehearsal dinner? What is the point of the dinner? I mean there is no time for us to even go to the venue beforehand because other weddings will be going on, unless we try to go on like the Wednesday or Thursday beforehand and then how am I going to get everyone together in the middle of the week? I am not sure what to...please help! TIA girls!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Help!
A lot of times the 'rehearsal dinner' is really more of a dinner for OOT guests, close family etc

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Help!
I'm not getting married in a church either. I don't want a rd but my fmil insists on it. I think its a waste of money in my opinion. At least for her. But I guess normally the grooms parents pay? They want to go to John Harvards which is not my thing. I think its more of a celebration and dinner type thing in my situation as well. I don't think you have to have one. Its up to you. I'm sure you will be running around doing things that it maybe hard to schedule one. Maybe the week before will be better?

This. We got married at the venue, but still had one. We did a qucik 10 min run through of who was going to walk with who and stuff like that...but not too much because they do it at the venue right before anyway.
It was more of a dinner for our OOT guests and close family memebers...a place for us to spend some real time with our oot guests since you don't get that time at the wedding.....and we were able to give gifts for our parents and bridal party there as well. We did A lot of research because we did not want to spend a fortune on it.

I think you need to have one regardless of where you get married otherwise it will be so chaotic b/c your girls wont know where to stand and stuff. It's just a 10min walkthrough of the ceremony and whatnot and then you eat (yay!)
