OK so HOW many of you did or plan on doing Rehearsal Dinner Invitations?
And what did you write in them?
Please state anything you want to add below!
I'm trying to find out if this is common and if I should do this.
~Uncertain Kerri!
I TOTALLY forgot to add the poll and now I can't edit to add it!!!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
We aren't doing them...I don't think I could deal with managing another whole set of RSVPs (that don't come in!). We just verbally asked people...we had a general idea of who would be coming.
But it's a cute idea if you want another project on your list!! I would appreciate the gesture if I received one (but the other two weddings I was in this summer didn't do them either).

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
I probably will not do them, as we still don't have one solidified, and by the time we do it will be CRUNCH TIME and I just can't see us scrambling to tie up loose wedding ends, find a house/furniture/move, and then have time to do yet more invites.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
If you are throwing the party yourself, I'd say it would be a good idea to send some kind of invitations, that way people have a constant reminder that it's approaching.
If you are not hosting it, then whoever is hosting it should decide whether or not send invites.
Last wedding I was in, the parents of the groom hosted and they actually just sent an Evite out which I thought was better for me since I am always on the computer.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
I've honestly never received a RD invite so wasn't planning on doing them. However, FMIL has stated that 'she is sending out invitations' since she's hosting the RD. I always thought it was by word of mouth.....
Whatever - as long as I'm not in charge of another set of invitations and RSVPs......

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
OH I wasn't going to even do mail RSVP's. Maybe email RSVP - I did that for my engagement party and it worked like a charm!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
i did them.....i only needed like 7 invitations....and vistaprint was having a sale....so it cost me like $6.50 for 10 invitations.....what the hey.
I sent RD invites out. I made them myself using e-pics. I also sent an info sheet with it so that everyone knows where they have to be and when. My friend did it for her wedding and it was so helpful.
hope this works....
ok they are all too big, putting them in RD album.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
I just did an evite and followed with an email It looks like this , just got so many compliments
I just sent out an evite- we had already spent enough money on the wedding that we didnt feel people would even really care to be honest lol
We included the time of the church and directions... along with a quick little poem about practice makes perfect and something about us getting ready for our big day LOL!!!! I forgot, but if you want, I can try to look it up for you. Also included where the RD would be

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
I did an evite as well....easy to send, easy to respond....save the money on stamps and the wait for responses...less waste and more 'green' as my mom would say
we wrote something like this:
The night before ___ and ___ say 'I do' we'd like to celebrate with you. Please join us for dinner, drinks, and good company on 9.17.09 for a 'pre-wedding dinner.' ( we are not having an actual rehearsal)

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
My MIL sent rehearsal dinner invites, they were cute. They just had our names, their names, the date, time and RSVP regrets only. Simple and easy.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Poll
We sent out invitations for the RD. I made then myself so it really didn't cost anything and we are not having people RSVP, we know who's gonna be there. It is a formal dinner and we are hosting it so we felt that it was the right thing to do. We did two different versions one for people that had to be at the actual church rehearsal and one for people that we wanted to come to the dinner but didn't need to come to the church. The firs one said something similar to this: 'Right before we tie the knot, let's rehearse the ceremony and iron out all the kinks, then please join us for dinner and drinks!'
the second invitaion looked identical but said: 'Vanessa and Francois request the pleasure your company as we toast to our families and friends...' Here's a pic of the first one:

I'm just using word of mouth...I'm not going to stress over another detail!
