I just sent mine, and it was 4 weeks in advance. In hind sight maybe 6 weeks would have been better. That's when people started to make their travel plans.
Hope this helps. Jen

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Here's my dilemna - I have never received anything more than a verbal invite to a rehearsal dinner - so I didn't realize that I had to do invitations - how formal are yours?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Mine were not formal at all. I just listed the times and places along with directions on pretty 8x11 stationary. I also added a little poem on top, complements of the girls on this board. Here's the poem if you're interested.
It's the night before the wedding, and all the planning is finally done. There's time to spend with family and friends, before the bride and groom become one.
The night before we tie the knot, please come for dinner and drinks. We’ll practice the ceremony step by step, to iron out the kinks.
I've both received a verbal invite and a written one. I decided to do a written one because everyone is coming from out of Town and thought it would be easier for them to have it written down.
If you don't have time or the energy I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
I've never received an invitation for a rehearsal dinner. Its always been a verbal invitation. If you want to do it you can but you don't have to. We're not.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Wow, I guess I am lucky. My future MIL is both planning the rehearsal dinner and sending out the invites. It's only about 25 people, but it will still be alot of fun!! We're having it at Katy Daly's in Massapequa.....
I think a verbal invite is fine especially if it's a small party. Personally, I think rehearsal dinners have gotten way out of hand these days and they shouldnt overshadow the wedding!! :)

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Invites
Im running a little behind on my invites so I will probably send them out 3 weeks before the date if Im lucky.
My invites will be CDs with our wedding song and others on it. The little booklet inside thecase is the invite.
