Rehearsal Dinner question??

Hello everyone...!

I am pretty new to these boards, but have to admit that I have been scanning them for some time. Thet have been extremely helpful and supportive. So thank you....

I need some advice on what to do about the rehearsal dinner. When are you supposed to have it in relation to your wedding? My wedding is a Sunday at 12 noon... do I do it that Friday (same weekend?) or the week, weeks before? What have or are you all doing? Any advice would be so gratefully appreciated!

I may not be the best person to respond to this because of when we are having our rehearsal. We are having it on July 27 (Way too early!) b/c of FI job. Most people I know that have had a Sunday wedding have had the rehearsal on the Thursday before though.

Check with your church b/c mine did not allow Friday rehearsals, and you may save on the RD by having it on a weekday.

check with your church, they tell you when to have it. mine is the thursday before and i have a sunday wedding.

Ours is the week before but most people do it a few days or the day before.

Advice: If you have any OOT BP, don't do it a week before. It angers them that they can't be there.

Thanks so much for all the help!!!!!... We are getting married at the reception site, so technically, there will be no 'real' rehearsal... we were just worried that our guests would be angry we are obligating them to the entire weekend... but great to know there are no real rules on this sort of thing....

We had a rehearsal dinner without the rehearsal the night before the wedding. It was more of a pre-wedding dinner with our family and bridal party. It was a great way to unwind and relax before the big day.
