Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question?
I don't think there are any rules about who is invited. We are inviting them since it is going to be at the hotel they will be at and this way they don't have to worry about renting a car or taking a taxi to a place they are not familiar with. The bridal party will be there 1/2 hour before everyone else to go over the details

I think it depends, we were going to invite the OOTers but then we realized just how many people will be OOTers that we wanted something a little more intimate the night before!

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question?
I guess that's true that there really is no right or wrong way. My situation is I thought it was suppose to be just the parents and the people in the bridal party and their spouse(s). My FM-In lawa is inviting all of her out of town family and friends.. some of them I don't even know. It just seems to becoming a little complicated b/c now I have out of towners too that I didn't even think of inviting to the rehearsal dinner. We are leaving for our honeymoon 2 days after so was thinking of just doing a luncheon for everybody the day after. But my FM-in law wants her out of towners at the rehearsal dinner since she is paying for it I really don't have a say?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question?
we are inviting our OOT guests that are coming from italy bc they wont know anyone who ISNT at the RD to go stay with for the night
however, out OOT guests that are coming from Florida used to live here so they will have plenty of people to visit that night

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question?
I don't have OOT guests, but my FMIL called me today....I have a list of 25 for the Rehersal. I included spouses and children of BP for Dinner. Is that too much. My party is small. MOH and Best Man. The BM and GM are my FH 2 children. I have 4 FG and a RB, all under 10 yrs old. My 2 neices and nephew and my FH 2 nieces. I included their parents.
I told FMIL that if it were too much I would come to the table. Not sure what is proper edicate.

we are inviting ours since for most of them it is their first time in NY and we wanted to keep them entertained.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question?
FH's parents are buttheads...so they were originally only paying for the bridal party plus the pastor....now they aren't paying for anyone...
But I digress....
The way I feel is if someone felt my wedding was important enough to get on a plane or drive for MANY hours to come from out of state - they deserve to come to the dinner.
I don't think there is any 'formal' way of doing it - including OOT or not - but it's all in what you feel or what you can afford honestly...

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Question?
i believe they are since they are coming for the wedding and it will give them 'something to do' while they are in town the night before if its that close to the wedding
