rehearsal dinner question

rehearsal dinner question

Who normally is in charge of sending out invites for the rehearsal dinner? I thought it was the groom's family but they don't seem to want to be involved other than funding it (which I definitely appreciate). I was just curious if other brides on here are getting help with this or not.

We are paying for the Rehearsal Dinner ourselves. We are sending out the invitations ourselves as well. I would say this would probably fall on the Bride/Groom's plate if you are the one organizing it and speaking with the restaurant/venue.

My in-laws are paying for the dinner but I'll probably send the invitations out myself (they think it's silly).

ANother question- whoa re you putting as the RSVP contact?

I have to speak to them about that. They are the ones who have been in communication with the venue. I'm going to ask my future MIL if I can put her as the person to RSVP to on the invites. This whole thing with them has taught me never to assume with wedding planning!

Ha that's probably fine too. This whole etiquette stuff can make your head explode! That's why I was stressed at the thought of another set of invites, I'm still recovering from the wedding invites!

I dont think its tacky. I'm not sending out invites and I've never even heard of that being done until this site.

No that's more than fine. All the ones I've been to were word of mouth!

I just sent an email to my bridal party to let them know the date, time and place. I don't think it is necessary for a formal invitation and I have never received a formal invitation for a rehearsal dinner

Okay, i thought it was just me haha. Are you guys inviting significant others to the rehearsal dinner? FFIL is paying so i dont want to be crazy with it .

We're allowing our bridal party to bring their significant others. The single girls/guys in our party won't be getting a plus one to the rehearsal dinner to cut costs.

Thanks for the input everyone. I've received a formal invite to the rehearsal dinner once, other times it's been by word of mouth.I don't think the invites themselves have to be formal but I thought it would be nice to send a separate one to those invited who are coming in from out of town.

FH's parents are paying for ours and FH and I are sending out the invites together.
