rehearsal dinner question

Original post by lizzyro

Who normally is in charge of sending out invites for the rehearsal dinner? I thought it was the groom's family but they don't seem to want to be involved other than funding it (which I definitely appreciate). I was just curious if other brides on here are getting help with this or not.

MY IL's are paying for the RD but will probably need/want help with invitations, so FH and I will probably take care of it.

I was just going to email my wedding party. Anyone else invited is up to my in-laws. There's so much other stuff to do, invitations are just another thing to worry about. I've been to a bunch of rehearsal dinners and never received an invitation.

I don't think rehearsal dinner invites are required, but if you want to send them out, go for it. Not sure what we will do yet, but if I do send one out I will DIY it so it doesn't become a big expense.

I might just make them too. That's what I did for the engagement party last year.

Our rehersal was just our BP so no ivites were needed. Group text worked out perfectly. Especially since our entire BP was couples and family. The girls got the texts and the guys just showed up

My FILS are paying for the dinner but I picked the place and I ordered the invitations myself from wedding paper diva's and put myself as the RSVP. I did put Hosted by them on the invitation-I'm too much of a control freak to let go and have them order and send out lol
