Rehearsal dinner question

I told my moh how big of a rehearsal dinner we will prob be having and she was confused and asked how since it bp isn't that big I told her spouses and bf/gf she said I was crazy! She had never been to any of the rehearsal dinner for the weddings her bf was in. On the other hand I've never been to a rehearsal dinner where the bf/gf or spouse wasn't invited! I guess it depends on your family and money. I plan on making sure we have the money to invite significant others. (At least for now)

Rehearsal dinner question

I spoke with my FH and he said it will be our bridal party and their SO's, his parents and my dad. However, knowing my FMIL, who I love to pieces, she is going to invite quite a few more. I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question but the soon-to-be bride and groom pay for the rehearsal dinner correct? I am so confused. Lol

My FMIL said that the groom's parents are supposed to pay for it but I'm not sure how true that is

That's the traditional way but now a lot of people do it different. Sometimes the bride and groom pay & sometimes both sides pay. It all depends..

I just feel bad as they are already contributing to our wedding. I believe me and the FH will be paying.

Ha ha, I'm totally with you there... we're wrestling with this right now too and are watching the numbers grow and grow... suddenly we're having 100 people to our wedding and 50 to the rehearsal dinner! What?!?!?!
