I just read in samsbride's post that the Groom is supposed to make a speech at the rehearsal dinner? I didn't know that! A speech about what? Just thanking everyone? Does the bride make on too? Do we have to say something at the wedding too?

FI's father made a speech. He paid for the dinner and wanted to thank everyone for coming. Then right before we handed out the gifts we both said a little something to thank everyone for being a part of our day.

At our RD, FI is going to make a speech thanking everyone for coming and thanking our parents for their love and support.

My DH is shy as anything so I made the speech at the rehearsal dinner and he chimed in at the end to say thanks!! Basically we thanked our family for all their support, we thanked all our friends individually for being part of our BP and we handed out gifts and we told everyone how we are looking foward to the future and being one whole family!! It doesn't have to be a big long speech, short and sweet is good!! Oh and I thanked my FIL for bringing my DH into the world and he thanked my parents. That was it!! We didn't give any speeches at the wedding!! Too much going on, never even thought of it!!
