Rehearsal Dinner To Invite with Guest or not

Rehearsal Dinner To Invite with Guest or not

What is everyone doing? I was only going to invite those with a guest who are married, living together or in a long term relationship. Someone told me (a BP member) that she should be invited with a guest even though she wouldn't bring one. That it's not 'right' to invite some with a guest and some without. My brother is one of the people who will not be invited with a guest.

We are doing all with guest. But it is really just the BP, and immediate family.

I think that you need to stick to the same thing that you're doing for the wedding. If they're invited with a guest for the wedding then you should allow them to bring a guest to the RD, if not, then there's no need to bring a guest to the RD.

Couldn't have said it better!

WE ARE DOING AL WITH GUEST, BUT IF THEY ARE NOT REALLY DATING ANYONE SPECIAL, I THINK IT WOULD BE OKAY TO EXCLUDE THE GUEST.

I understand what you are saying to an extent. But said friend has no significant other not even a casual other. She has brought a female friend with her to many an event. This is not something I feel she or anyone not dating should be invited with a guest. For the wedding it'sone thing, it's someone to keep them company but for the rehearsal. I don't get it. I appreciate your thought and keep them coming. I do have an open mind.

we are doing strictly bp and parents.

It's too much to invite every plus one. Plus my fils are paying so we are trying to keep it small.
As it is we are group of 22, i cant imagine if everyone were to bring a guest what the tab would come out to!

Let me get this straight, a member of your BP told you that she feels that she should be invited with a guest EVEN THOUGH she doesn't plan on bringing anyone??? So she's just bringing this to your attention based on etiquette???

To answer your question: We are only inviting BP members with a guest if they are married or living together or in a long term relationship.

Yes, you are correct. I guess she is just bringing it to my attention.

I invited guests only if they were in a long term relationship.. Honestly, you don't want it to become a mini wedding.. Even with me cutting corners our RD is going to be approx. 50 people.. Thank goodness my *daddy* is doing a good old fashioned BBQ & hero buffet type deal...

HTH!

We're just ordering some pizza and having RD at my sister's house (MOH). We are playing just to invite the BP, We've wasted some much money already we figured just the BP.

We are inviting everyone and just having a casual dinner.

We invited everyone to our wedding with a guest. We are not following the same etiquette with the RD because that is not the RD purpose. I want to be with the people who matter the most in the world to me and that is not my MOH's fling of the week . Now I am not inviting any dates but if someone wants to bring a guest and asks well then screw it, sure. I know this seems backassed but thats how it goes.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner To Invite with Guest or not

If a BP member isnt in a longterm relationship... I would think it would be rude for them to have a guest at RD or even the Wedding! So you should buy them two dinners for them and their guest? just so they can not be alone?!?! Sorry I sound cheap but i think its rude for anyone to bring a 'friend or aquaintance or recent hookup' to a wedding. and the RD - no way!!!

Its not really an anwser to your question, sorry. I would ONLY invite long-term-committed individuals with guests - just in case someone were rude enough to actually bring a 'f*ck friend' and have you pay.
