rehearsal dinner traditions

Please help

Our rehearsal dinner is next week. What do we have to do (or what should we do?)

~There is a champange toast when we enter, is someone supposed to say something?

~When do we give the BP their gifts?

~ are we supposed to say something?

~When we do the grooms cake, do we cut it together like a wedding cake or does FH cut it?

Fill me in ladies!

Re: rehearsal dinner traditions

This is what I've read:

The bride and groom are on hand to meet everyone as the arrive.

Toasts are made with dinner, or into the second hour of your rehearsal dinner. There are variety of orders for toasting, but the one that keeps coming up in the books and websites I've been going to is that the host of the rehearsal dinner--you and your FH or FH's father, makes the first toast (if this is FH's father, he toasts the bride's family and the bride); the best man goes second; MoH third; the groom toasts the bride, her family and groomsmen and the bride goes last and she toasts the groom; the grooms family and her bridesmaids. Then whoever else wants to make a toast can.

In regards to gifts to BMs and GMs, you can give them their gifts when you feel like it--at the beginning of the dinner or after. I'm going to give them their gifts when we do our mini run through.

Hope this helps you. Good luck and have a wonderful rehearsal dinner.

I was hoping that the place we have it at would help with all this... hahaha
I guess you can walk around and give the gifts during the night...
Maybe right after diner you can say a 'thank you' speech...
but I am really not sure...
