Rehearsal Dinner w/ no rehearsal?

Anyone else having/had a rehearsal dinner without an actual rehearsal? If so, how do you phrase the invite?

we're not having a rehearsal. But i didn't know we had to send invites. We just personally invited.
Should we get invites? (inlaws dropping the ball again)

My friend had a RD without an actual rehearsal and her invite said something like: Mr. and Mrs. xx Invite you to a dinner honoring xx and xx on the eve of their marriage......yadda, yadda, yadda....

i can't believe they don't allow rehearsals. can you ask them again, or are you ok not having it??

you are paying soo much $$$ for the wedding, it just doesn't seem right.

I'm really not ok not having one, but we don't have a choice.
We can't use their grounds saturday because of events, and friday or a weekday is no good because most of our groomsmen are out of towners and won't be here yet.

We're not going to need a formal rehearsal because the bridal party is small (Best Man and MOH only). And I don't plan to send written invitations to the rehearsal dinner -- we'll invite people by phone.

If you want to send written invitations to your rehearsal (non-rehearsal? ) dinner, you could write something cute like, 'Please join us for a 'rehearsal' dinner... without the actual rehearsal! We'll be at Whatever Restaurant at 6:00pm.'

We are doing this. The immediate families and the bridal party are having dinner the night before. The 'rehearsal' will be that morning of the wedding at the hall.

Yep.. that's what we're doing..

no need to rehearse.. how could they screw it up? hehe

seriously.. we plan to give instructions right before the ceremony.

We are not having a rehearsal...we are just inviting people to dinner. We only have a BM and MOH, so it's not a big BP party. I am putting an intererary in the OOT guest rooms along with a basket. It will say something like 'join us for dinner...meet in the lobby at such and such time'. Nothing fancy...it will be mostly word of mouth.

We have a HUGE wedding party, and we are not having a rehersal! Our hall has an event the night before the wedding, and our Cantor says he doesn't do rehersals. We are going to run through it once before the ceremony starts and the guests begin to arrive. We are doing pictures at the hall before the wedding, so we will all be there early. Luckily lots of people in the wedding party have been in lots of weddings already! It isn't that hard do walk down the aisle. I am having the rehersal dinner the night before the wedding. I don't know yet if I am going to send out invitations, or just tell everyone verbally. I have enough to do!

We will have a nice dinner and give out the bridal party and parent gifts. And I will give everyone directions to where the have to meet and what time to meet the day of the wedding. I will also let everyone know WHO they are walking down the aisle with and what order they will be in.

we are not having a rehersal so we will just invite everyone to dinner via phone or face to face no formal invites!

Another Scotto Bros. bride here so we can't have a rehearsal either at CB. We are doing a practice rehearsal in my parents backyard before the rehearsal dinner. We didn't think to do invites - that would be a whole to-do b/c our bridal party is almost 30 people. We'll just do it by phone.

This is similar to how ours is worded ... and it's really going to be a family dinner with OOT family, no rehearsal.
