Will having a rehearsal dinner with no rehearsal be stupid?
We wanted the rehearsal before the dinner but so many things came up, some of the bridal party won't be able to make it (they're coming from out of state)... so we're going to do a run through before the ceremony on the day of. But I still kinda want the rehearsal dinner since me and my big fat mouth told everyone when things weren't set it stone yet. Paying for the dinner is not a issue bc I already have the money set aside for it... and I do want to have a get-together with family and friends before the wedding... but will the ppl think it's weird? Maybe I should just save the money?

Well you can have a dinner the night before even if the rehearsal is the next day or you have serve lunch before the rehearsal (which is what I did).

Not weird at all. I have been to 2 RDs where there was no rehearsal beforehand.
Sometimes people do the actual rehearsal a few days before but save the dinner for the night before so OOT guests can attend.

Re: rehearsal dinner with no rehearsal...
My RH said that we cannot do a rehersal the night before if another event is taking place. But my FMIL wants to throw a dinner anyway.
I was thinking about calling it a 'Welcome Dinner' or something crafty like that. There has got to be a creative name for a rehersal dinner without the rehersal!

I am having my ceremony at the Reception hall so no rehersal will take place but we are having a nice get together dinner the night before!

I'm doing a rehearsal dinner with no rehearsal. We'll do a quick run through right before the wedding. I still wanted the dinner though because it was a nice time to get everyone together, relax and have a good time. I'm doing the dinner a week before the wedding.

Re: rehearsal dinner with no rehearsal...
We had a RD without the rehearsal. We got married at the RH so the rehearsal was 30 mins before the ceremony. I think my FIL called it a 'pre-wedding dinner' or something to that effect on the invitation. I'm so glad we had a dinner b/c the wedding day is so hectic that you really don't get to spend quality time with people. The dinner was a great way to relax and spend the evening with our closest friends and family. I had such a great time at the dinner.

It doesn't have to be called a RD, it can just be a pre wedding get together! I'm not sure if I'll be having a rehearsal either but I still wanna get together the day b4! XOXOXO Kitty

I'm having a pre-dinner with no rehersal. I'm getting married in the hall so theres no rehersal. We're having a dinner to give out the BP gifts.

Re: rehearsal dinner with no rehearsal...
I may do my rehersal and the dinner on separate days only beacuse my church may hold the rehersal during the week and FH wants to throw a mini party.
