Rehearsal Invites

When do you send them out? Our rehearsal dinner is May 14, a little over a month....FMIL hasn't ordered them, or even looked at them yet.....should I start panicing yet?

Re: Rehearsal Invites

At the last wedding I was in, my friend mailed the invites out 2 weeks before the date for people who were local. Then she put them in the welcome basket for OOT guests. By the time we got to a month away everyone going was well aware of the date. Believe me if they don't ask you - you'll be sure to mention it just to be sure they've cleared the date - regardless of the invite. The invite just adds that special little touch.

I would start looking for some right away. I would send them out 3 weeks in advance. JMO! Good Luck!

I think it's good if the OOT guests know ahead of time about the dinner. That may determine when they decide to come to town.

If you are just having people involved in the wedding (ie brial party, parents, grandparents) do we need to send invites? I wasn't planning this.

I was thinking of adding the rehearsal dinner invitation along with wedding invitation just for the people that are invited to the dinner. We're just having the BP and parents at the rehearsal dinner. We're paying for that ourselves.b

We never sent formal invites, just word of mouth.

Are people making invitations for the rehersal dinner themselves or having them made? I hadn't thought about an invite for the rd

Re: Rehearsal Invites

I sent mine out a few days after the wedding invite. This way OOT people could plan if they wanted to attend the dinner - Also we had to pay and hand in the head count 10 days before so I couldn't wait that long.

I would get them out soon if you can

I'm not. I'm just doing word of mouth.

We had our RD made to look like theatre tickets. I just got them today and will be sending them out by the end of the week. To RSVP the people send back their ticket stub.

I made mine on the computer and sent them out three weeks before the dinner. Here is the only pic I have left of them!! I bought the paper and Vellum at office max. Everyone thought I had them made up.

Our RD is the same day and I sent my invites out as the same time I sent our invitations to our wedding out which was March 9. I would get them out ASAP because May is a very busy month (graduations, communions, etc.)
