Is everyone having a rehersal dinner? If so who is paying for it? My fiance and I are footing the bill for the entire wedding and I honestly dont know if we will be able to afford paying for the rehersal dinner as well.
Would it be Super tacky to have a dinner and have guest pay for themselves?
Sorry just getting a little crazy with the planning

Re: Rehersal Dinner
Can you have it in your house? Maybe you can have it catered for like $10 a person.

Re: Rehersal Dinner
We are also most likely paying for the RD. We'll get some food catered and have the party at our home.. It'll be cheaper than at a restaurant probably.. Im on the same boat as you girl, im sure alot of other girls on here are also It'll work out!!!!

Re: Rehersal Dinner
We are having a small catered dinner in our suite (we have a destination wedding). I know that Olive Garden does menus for $15pp. You could also have something informal like a barbque or a potluck dinner at home. My sister did a cousin dinner in her backyard, she asked a few people to cook and there were about 20 ppl that attended.
ETA: Do not ask people to pay, they will be greatful if you host something small. If you still can't afford it, is it necessary for you to have one at all? Do you have a lot of out of town guests?

Re: Rehersal Dinner
we're having either a backyard bbq at FMIL's house or having catered food there. Either way nothing big.

We were thinking something catered at home also. See if there are cheaper catering menus you can use. Or just get a bunch of appetizers and desserts. That's always fun!

Re: Rehersal Dinner
My FMIL can not afford a RD, so I mentioned if they would host a backyard BBQ for us. They said yes. See if someone can host it for you.

We're having a BBQ in our backyard. It's the cheapest route for us! :) Maybe you can consider this?

Re: Rehersal Dinner
We are also paying for the wedding and we are having the rehersal dinner at our house. That way we can do what we want, and not have to worry about a huge bill at the end. My brother/mom are really good cooks so I know they will do the majority of the cooking and I will help out with dessert or where ever I can.

Re: Rehersal Dinner
We're also paying for the entire wedding ourselves. We were kind of hoping FIL's would pay for the RD but they haven't said anything. If they don't we will either scale it down a bit (not that we were planning anything extravogant anyway) or maybe not have one at all I wouldn't ask anyone to pay their own tab. Chances are the people that you will be inviting have already spent some $$$ for your big day. I say scale it down if you need to.
