Rehersal Dinner

Original post by lilangel

Is everyone having a rehersal dinner? If so who is paying for it? My fiance and I are footing the bill for the entire wedding and I honestly dont know if we will be able to afford paying for the rehersal dinner as well.

Would it be Super tacky to have a dinner and have guest pay for themselves?

Sorry just getting a little crazy with the planning

I am going to ask around and see if there is anyone that can host it for us and I will just have it catered. I know it is one of those things where they will be happy to do it if I ask .... I just hate asking lol

Thank you everyone for all your great ideas!

I soooo want a casual RD. I wanna be able to hang till all hours of the nite. My idea was to get a bunch of specialty pizza's and have like ziti and salad and hang at my 'rents house. We are gonna have the whole fancy sit down dinner at the wedding, I dont want to take away from that as well.

FH's parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner. We haven't booked anything yet but I think it will p robably be limited to the bridal party w/ guests & out of towners & grandparents & stuff. Its still gfoing to be like 50 people probably.--------- Maybeyou can have like hors d'voures and drinks .. you don't need to have a 4 course meal. Especially since if your wedding is the next day.. everyone will be getting that the next day. I think its totally acceptable to have something small.. just don't ask people to pay.

I'm cooking! We're in an apartment, so no bbq, but I'll make several dishes (curries / stews ) that can be easily doubled.... I should also mention that the party will be REALLY small (about 12 people)
