Re: Rehersal Dinner
DO a search on this. I could swear someone asked this not to long ago with the same specifications. I could be wrong, and if so I apologize.

I tried a search, but I couldn't find what I'm looking for...more near the water??...I'm originally from San Diego and not that familiar with LI restaurants except for the ones I've been to...I'm just thinking there are some great restaurants out here I'm not aware of - Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

Re: Rehersal Dinner
I loved San Diego. That's where I want to retire to. Someday....Anyway, these are the restaurants in Nassau that I can think of off the top of my head.
There are a couple of great restaurants on Freeport's Nautical Mile. I especially like Rachel's Waterside Grill. There is another place in Merrick on the water that FH & I really liked, but I can't remember the name, and he's not at home yet.
There is also Dick & Dora's (Seaford?) and the Boardwalk at Jones Beach (food's not so great, but right on Jones Beach boardwalk.)
In Lindenhurst there are a few, off the top of my head I know Chateau La Mer and Cappy's (I went there a long time ago, not sure if it's still around.)
Look at the lists in the back of the Zagat or at zagat.com They should have lists by outdoor or waterside etc.

Re: Rehersal Dinner
Dick & Dora's has gone downhill - so stay away from there. The Jones Beach restaurant has been under new management, and so far I've heard only good things about the food.

Re: Rehersal Dinner
You should try the Snapper Inn in oakdale or the Riverview. I am having mine at the snapper inn and it's a pretty good package. It's not in nassau though...

Re: Rehersal Dinner
Louie's in Port Washington is right on the water. I was there a couple of years ago, and if I remember correctly, they have a private room. It's kind of casual, but I remember the food being really good.

Re: Rehersal Dinner
Marcella,We are having the RD on May 30th - Friday night in Nassau County - I'm open to both north or south shore. Do you have any advice?
(I am so bummed - I think you have to subscribe to zagat.com now for restaurant reviews!
)Karen - Louie's was just recommended to me today by a co-worker. She said it's great and it's the restaurant in Meet the Parents.
I'll have to check it out - it sounds fun. She also mentioned LaMota's?? Has anyone ever been there?

Did you try any restaurants on the Nautical mile in Freeport. There are a lot of restaurants there and they are right on the water. Just do a search on the web for nautical mile, freeport and you should come up with something.Welcome New Vendors
