who gets invited?

I think it's the parents of the bride and groom and the bridal party...with their significant other if you can afford that.

Sometimes people also invite readers-if you are having a church ceremony. Also the grandparents get invited also-i've seen

some people do invite out of towners, it all depends upon what you can afford and how big of a rehersal dinner you want to have

I'm inviting my 2 sets of aunts & uncles and cousins from out of town. Personally, I couldn't just invite my one aunt that lives here, my grandmother (her mother) and not the others.

my concern is that if we invite all out of towners then it turns into a mini weddings. and there are only a few aunts and uncles not invited. i cant see inviting some aunts and uncles and not others jsut because of distance.

in my opinion you only invitethe people who have a role in your wedding...therefore they need to rehearse, be told where to stand, when to come up up, sit down etc.

i have heard that you can invite out of towners if they are going to be there a few days before yoru wedding but i think if you DONT invite them it wouldnt be the worst thing...they actually may not feel comfortable coming anyway

at my brother's rehearsal dinner it was the entire bridal party plus significant others, parents and grandparents of the bride and groom, plus the parents of the ring bearer and one couple from OOT who happened to be my mom's best friends. it was kind of a big event. i'm hoping mine isn't quite as crazy.

It varies from wedding to wedding. I have a VERY close family so I'm really not sure how it will end up working out- I want my whole family there. In the end, with expenses, I'll probably have to just keep it to parents, bridal party and grandparents.
