Rehersal Dinner options with poll!

Fh and I were looking into RD today and well to be honest it was very pricey on the East End where we would be having our rehersal and dinner. We are having between 35-40 people and it looks like it will cost above $1,100-. If we do a Pizza, salad and knots dinner at the same place it will cost around $650-. What are your opinions on that? Please be honest....

We are having the RD at Bella Roma in RockyPoint most likely on wens. or thurs...

i think something on the relaxed side would be fun! it would be easier for everyone to talk and if people dont know eachother, it might be a more comfortable situation

i dont see anything wrong with doing a pizza party type thing.

my dad would love it haha..

It will just be a more relaxed type of dinner, which is really nice, esp after the rehersal and just before hte wedding. it might be nice to keep things low key!

I voted pizza and relaxing....you will be serving an amazing elaborate meal a day or two later and are probably spending an arm and a leg for that. People like to just be comfortable and relax. I am thinking about an informal BBQ and then a Mets game!

Everyone loves pizza!

Plus, anyplace you go for a fancy rehearsal dinner is going to pale in comparison to your perfect wedding a few days later!

pizza is a great idea! plus if u have any OOTers they will need to try some NY style pizza anyway!

I chose Sit down dinner., bc this is when you give your BP gifts.,and their guests comes with them...

Its suppose to be...'classy'; IMO

You can do the pizza and still give the gifts like if it was a ' formal' RD.

I like your idea about the pizza...its fun and relaxed as you say...who cares anyway? You guys do what you want! That's what I say. You are having alot of people at the rehearsal so....its alot. Everyone is going to remember the wedding not the RH dinner...

We are thinking about checking out John Harvards by the Smithaven Mall...someone suggested that to us...they have a separate room...dunno

GOOOD I am glad that I posted on here. I was thinking about the sit down being proper,,so to speak but FH and my Mom say that Pizza is more Fun... I am still doing gifts and such during the party.

JH has great food and they have many many diffrent flavors of beer. But that is about 50 min from our ceremony location
I believe they DO have a seperate party room

That is what I was worried about, however,, I think that the place that we are having it in is new and very pretty.

I think the pizza idea is great. My friends did a catered dinner at their house and it was laid back and fun. Everyone got to mingle. Save your $ and put it into the wedding...or a Coach bag! hahaah

We were thinking about a house party,, but in november it would most likely be inside and I couldnt have it at my apartment and I dont want to put that responsibility on my parents or FIL.. BBQ sounds fun though

my brother did a pizza dinner BUT he did it at this awesome place in the city that used to be a church - i cant remember the name. . . .

anyway, i agree that you want it to be a special more formal dinner - so i wouldnt want a pizza party like at a pizzeria. . . but since you are still having it a restaurant i think it will be nice!

COACH is definatly a problem.. however I returned the 2 pairs of shoes today and the bag that I ordered,,, they were just all not what I was hoping for,.. Put the money in the wedding fund instead!!
