I hate to use the word 'tacky' because I think it's a really poor choice of words to describe anything... HOWEVER... would it be 'tacky' to have the RD at the hotel where many of our guests will be staying (we have rooms blocked at this particular hotel)?
I would say about half of the people that will be at the RD are OOT and will be staying at the hotel anyway plus there is a bar at the hotel where we can hang out for a little while after the RD.
Thoughts? Is it strange not to have the RD in a restaraunt??

Re: Rehersal Dinner Question
Does the hotel have an ok restaurant? If so, I think there is nothing wrong with having the RD there.

Re: Rehersal Dinner Question
We're actually doing that so I hope not! FH's parents thought it would be easier, that way people don't have to drive places....also, they're going to host a cocktail reception for those who aren't invited to the dinner or arrive later on Friday

They have small banquet rooms and it would be catered... believe it or not, it's a little bit cheaper than a restaraunt too... at least the ones I've called.

Re: Rehersal Dinner Question
I dont see why not. Saves you money and is convenient for everyone! Its more intimate too (no waitstaff, other customers, noise, etc). You'll have fun no matter where it is!

Agreed! this is exactly what we are doing.
FH's entire family is OOT as is half of our bridal party. We're having rehearsal dinner at the OOT hotel and a small reception afterwards for the rest of the OOT guests to mingle
