Rehersal Dinner Question

Original post by AMGBride2008

I hate to use the word 'tacky' because I think it's a really poor choice of words to describe anything... HOWEVER... would it be 'tacky' to have the RD at the hotel where many of our guests will be staying (we have rooms blocked at this particular hotel)?

I would say about half of the people that will be at the RD are OOT and will be staying at the hotel anyway plus there is a bar at the hotel where we can hang out for a little while after the RD.

Thoughts? Is it strange not to have the RD in a restaraunt??

Not at all! It's fine... when we blocked our rooms/ they showed us the banquet rooms & they were nice! It will be easy for your guests & serves the purpose. Price sounds right too- go for it

I don't think its 'tacky' at all ... I think its nice to make it so convenient for everyone.

It might be nicest if you invite all your OOT guests to the dinner, though ... not sure if that was your plan.

If it's in a restaurant thats ok.. but if you are ding a brunch the day after than I would suggest doing it at another place.. juyst so you dont eat the same food 3 days apart from each other

It was discussed.... we're on a really limited budget though for the RD, so bare minimum if possible.... but if we need to reach a minimum, than we'll probably invite OOTers... although, we're not sure who's coming in the night before or not....

No - you're good. My girlfriend had her RD at a bowling alley - then they went to karaoke afterwards... That is truly cool.
