Looking for good tips for a rehersal dinner/night before dinner location in the Roosevelt Field area. We have a mixed Indian / American crowd and a veggitarian. We were thinking of Akbar with trays of Italian food being brought in from Mama Theresas or something but sometimes a package deal at a restaurant is best. It'll be a friday night so many places will be crowded....any tips?

Well its not Indian but Italian....we went to a RD on Friday at Paparazzi...it was very nice!

You can do seafood, Legal Seafoods is over there, very good!

Akbar is Awesome! Legal seafood, red lobster, olive garden, cafe spazzos, cafe baci, ruby tuesdays

Tesoro on Old Country Rd. is fabulous. It's a few miles down the road from RF.

I was going to suggest Paparazzi as well, the food is great and there is a side room that might be able to accomodate you...

I'll check out Paparazzi tomorrow- my co-worker suggested that too! Akbar is good too but to bring in trays of Italian food might be difficult right now- they are a second runner up tho.
Cheesecake is great but you can't make reservations on a Tuesday- forget a Friday night!! I love that place tho!
My veggie BM loved Zen Palate (as did I, FH and others) but if steak isn't offered my meat-iterians will kill me!!
I will also check out Seventh Street Cafe tho we used to have office parties there and I liked, but didn't love, the food. Thanks for the tips!!

You can also try West End cafe which is in carl place on glen cove road ... right in the AC Moore and Joyce Leslie shopping plaza..... their food is great!!!!

I heard of them too- at least I have a lot of choices in that area! Maybe that's the probelm!!

We had ours at Nawlins grill in mineola...It's right off old country road. They have a private room downstairs, great food and great prices too. We had ours on a friday night and they usually have a live band those nights too and you can hear it from downstairs (although we brought our own cds to play). We had our rehearsal dinner at Jewel of India in Syosset. They have a really nice small banquet room and they were relatively inexpensive as well!
