Rehersal Dinners??

Any suggestions on where to have the rehersal dinner.... My fiance and I have to pay for it and we have a rather large wedding party....

A friend of ours did theirs at Giardino's in Douglaston. Not sure of the pricing, but the food was very good!

Where are you looking to have it? e.g. Nassau, Suffolk, Queens?

It depends on where you're planning to have the rehearsal dinner. I don't know any places in L.I. In the city, I would recommend Park (btwn 7th& 8th Ave) West 18-19 Street. It's a great affordable place with delicious food that feels like you're outdoors except the inside interior of the restaurant is decorated like an enchanted garden. Another place I would recommend is Pranna, a great Thai/Indian Fusion restaurant. The food is modernized inspired by Thai/Indian dishes. It's located on 79 Madison Ave (corner of 28th Street). I highly recommend this restaurant, I went there for Valentine's Day with my husband and the food and backdrop of the restaurant is amazing. If you're looking for something really affordable and laid-back: Five Burros (Mexican) on Forest Hills, Queens, Cabana (Cuban), there is one located on Forest Hills in Queens and another located on 89 South Street in the South Street Seaport Mall. There is a whole strip of restaurants on the Forest Hills in Queens if you don't like any of the places mentioned above.

Benihana's in Manhasset was the coolest rehearsal dinner I've been to. So much fun and so different. We also went to one at DiMaggio's on the bay in Pt Washington - they had a big wedding party and the Italian food was great....there are two DiMaggio's in Pt Wash though - this is the one at 45 Orchard Beach Boulevard (Brewer Capri East Marina), Port Washington, (516) 944-5900.

I just went to Macs of Huntington awesome place great people great food and a really nice bar. 631.549.5300. They have a private area if you want.

I went to Bertucci's on 110. It was $28/person, we got our own room and waiters and the menu was as follows

Everything is served family style

unlimited coffee, tea, soda
salad (caesar or garden)
antipasto
choice of 3 different pizzas (we got 2 of each kind but I guess if you have more people you get more pizza)
a pasta choice
a chicken choice
dessert trio

It was great. Service was great, food was great and it required a minimum amount of planning becuase by the end, I was so lazy.
