actions speak louder than words sweetness.....if you are feeling insecure in your ABILITY to stay in the relationship. you might or might not want to discuss it with him, if it's the fact that you don't want to hurt him the way he's been hurt in the past....that's a conversation to have with him and that will do wonders for the 2 of you in regards to trust, honesty, and the baby steps you are both taking

Re: relationship advice
relationships should be all sunshine and roses in the beginning...i'm sticking to that...if there is baggage and aggravation, you have to ask yourself: do i really need/want this?'
people always follow patterns in the types of relationships they get in to ....

Re: relationship advice
Honestly I wouldn't date anybody that I felt I had to constantly 'prove' myself to. I would think that they weren't ready to be involved in a relationship. Just be yourself - thats all you can do.

OMG I could have written this.. well said, Peanut
Any relationship in my past that turned into a disaster usually began as a 'project' and was a struggle - then always deteriorated. In those really early stages, it should NOT be so rough ..eveyrthing should be blissful!
Of course there are cases where the hard work and patience turns into something wonderful... but you do have to truly give a lot of yourself for that to happen. And maybe, just maybe, it isn't always worth it
I never realized the difference until I met DH.. from day one it was so easy, happy and fun.. I was on cloud 9 in those early days and then it turned into something really solid .

It's not to say that this always happens either...But in my opinion, unless you like drama, then the less aggravation, THE BETTER....

Re: relationship advice
My opinion is that everyone has pretty much been hurt or burned in the past, especially as you get older and date in your later 20s and 30s. If it becomes an issue when you start dating someone new then it's just not right with that person or at that time. When you meet someone where you are 100% 'ready' again, and it's 'right,' then whether or not you were burned in the past won't even be a factor.

Re: relationship advice
very well said yet i kinda disagree..maybe cause i have been 'burned' relatively recent....i think that once u r burned by someone u will always take that into ur next relationship with aother person whether u r over ur ex or not...i think that ur past and what u have been threw def. affects ur next relationship and can certainly make u leery.
