I recently got married at the Thatched Cottage, and in the words of all that attended ' It was the best wedding they have been to'...I'm not from NY, so I booked my vendors on my 'gut' feeling, as I had no one to recommend me. I looked at ony 1 video guy (which was great if you need info) 2 reception sites and 1 DJ (spinaround) ...
I am Australian and back home we do things a little differently, Tom (spinaround) was only too happy to assist me in any way he could..
You are so lucky..I was only married 2 weeks ago and I can't stop thinking about how fantastic the wedding was at the Thatched Cottage... I will not give it away but I can bet you are not expecting how fantastic it is going to be.. They put on a night that has to be experienced to believed.. I have people still calling and thanking me for inviting them..
I will find all my florist details and let you know, I had Ivy Topiaries in Terracotta pots on the tables, then I had a ribbon on the stem and white roses inserted into the topiary ball and base...They were amazing, and elegantly fit into the theme of the Thatched cottage. I found The Gown Company in the East Village (NYC), which sells designer samples and excess inventory at unbelieveable prices. Is there anyone out there who knows of similar stores(besides 1385 Broadway) or upcoming sample sales in Manhattan or on LI?
AMAZING...You will get so much more than you expect..I will not spoil it and tell you all about it, but people are still calling us and raving about the night..They said they have never been to a wedding like that in their lives and some are over 60, so I bet they have been to alot of weddings....We want to get married again now, just so we can do it again at the Thatched Cottage.. A friend of ours booked the Thatched Cottage after attending our wedding for next April, I am looking so forward to attending as a guest...

I used a guy near the Thatched Cottage Called Classic Video (Steve 631 864 0052), I haven't seen my video yet, (just got married) , but my husband is a Web Designer and is very up to date with what to look for and what he wants and expects for his money. This company is the only one we looked at as we liked him and his work as soon as we saw him..He stayed all night until all the guests left, never got in our way, and did everything he could to keep us happy..I can only recommend him on that alone, but if you know my husband he expects alot coming from a creative background so we are happy so far. He also does Photography I think, but we had already booked a photgrapher so we used him for video only. I am not going to recommend my photographer eventhough he was a nice guy and tried really hard, I don't think we clicked with what we wanted...
