remember that bridesmaid that dropped out..

remember that bridesmaid that dropped out..

Well she has made no attempt to talk to me or FH at ALL since she told me.

A mutual friend just called and said that he spoke to her about it and she is basically sacrificing being in my bridal party because she has two other 'better' friends that are going to be engaged soon and she doesnt want to have the extra monetary burden

I am so upset and I am just at the point where I dont think anyone gives a **** about my wedding.

Oh Jen....sorry you are going through this. At least you found out what kind of friend she is before she is in your bp (it would have been a lot of problems, I'm sure). It's her loss...not yours.

Aww, I'm so sorry Jen!! But if that's her attitude then you're better off without her!! Don't think no ones cares, I'm sure those close to you really do!!!

Wow, if that is what the problem is she should have told you that from the beginning. She could have said that she would love to be in your BP but can not afford it right now.

Since she hasn't spoken to either of you are you still going to invite her to the wedding?????

I wouldn't invite her.. I would her brother though. But thats just me. (and I'm writing this after I have had the worst day at work)...I don't think you should have to 'grin and bear it' all the time during the planning of a wedding. Too often we worry about everyone elses' feelings and it's just those people who turn on US and make us feel like garbage just because they can. Do what your gut tells you to do.. Invite her and be the bigger person.. or don't invite her and feel ok about it. Don't stress.. it's a party and you should have FUN

If you think about you can invite her and she might not even come b/c she could be so embarrassed by the way she acted. So then you would be the bigger person and you wouldn't look bad.

i wouldn't invite her to anything and not give it a second thought...how rude and obnoxious of her to say she is holding out of being in your BP in case 'better' friends get engaged...they aren't even engaged yet...

pardon my french, but F*** her, and forget it! and she SHOULD feel snubbed by you invited her twin- GOOD for her...she is totally out of line.

aww you guys are making me feel so much better.

I feel like such a LOSER for even asking someone who treats me like this.

Ugh. Ya know when you were little and had a best friend that always had ten million other friends...thats what I feel like.

That's just crappy! Forget her. You don't want someone like that to be a part of your wedding anyway.

Isn't it sad how when you expect people to stick by you and be a good friend, they show their true colors. I love my wedding planning, but the whole process has really helped me realize who my true friends are

Yea I dont think I have any anymore

No, seriosuly I just cant believe her. I would NEVER do that to ANYONE in a million years.

Do you think its ok to ask someone else?

Re: remember that bridesmaid that dropped out..

Absolutely! I think anyone would be honored to be a part of your special day. I wouldn't care when I was asked, as long as I was wanted!!! You deserve to have a BM who wants to be there and will share the joy with you!!!

As for good friends... friends just seem to come and go. And it sounds to me that she never was that great to you, especially if she left you hanging the way she did. She wasn't worthy of YOUR friendship... So good riddens to her!

wow what a crappy friend

dont feel bad, she is the jerk.
good riddance to her.
you lose a friend, you make a friend, no biggie.
I recently had to cut out a bridesmaid, and although i felt really bad that i lost a friend, it is better to have real friends around who care about you.
Seriously dont even waste a minute of your precious time feeling bad about her.
