Well she was replaced....i didnt want to replace her but we did...with FH's cousin who i am close with. I learned a valuable lesson in this bridal crap...never put friends in a bridal party.
LOL

Re: Remember when my bridesmaid backed out?
I think it varies by person, I think no matter who you put in the wedding, there might be some drama at one point or another
I chose not put any friends, just sisters and sis in laws, and have hit some bumps at one point or another with all of them

Re: Remember when my bridesmaid backed out?
so if I could do it over, I would just have no one or MOH, not that I don't want them, cause I'm very excited, but just to avoid drama, it's not worth it

yes they are acting funny I chose friends over family because I am not the closest with family but I just don't like what I am seeing and what I am hearing its frustrating so I am the point of should I just start replacing

Re: Remember when my bridesmaid backed out?
Yes I hear you, I have mostly my friends, and actually excluded my FH's sister because I couldn't fit both sisters (and one is nasty anyway!)
Now because I'm young and my friends are all not in the 'marriage mode' yet they have been really sort of disinterested the whole time for the wedding, especially my MOH--its actually pretty upsetting because I know when they finally come around to their time they will expect me to be excited and helpful to them.

Yeah I definitely get that young thing...haha my sister is my MOH and she's only 18. She really is trying to be excited for me but I also feel bad being so excited because she recently broke up with her serious boyfriend.. But she's trying really hard for me which I appreciate. The rest of my girls are my age but we're all so busy that there is rarely time for drama lol. I hope your friends/sisters-in-laws come around.

yep.. i know the feeling.. i have a mixture of friends and family and honestly my family is the most frustrarting section..
i wish i could have picked my bridal party from some other brides to be.. some i've met here and on other bridal boards.. i think they' be more responsive and responsible. since they know what it's like.

Re: Remember when my bridesmaid backed out?
I'm def going through the whole BM drama myself. My party is a mixture of friends and family. For the most part, the majority are really good and helpful. But there's a few who always have something to say to the point where I get silently upset about it. Another surprising thing is some of the ones upsetting me tend to be the ones who have actually already gotten married/went through this themselves. I guess I expected more from the married ones!!!

Re: Remember when my bridesmaid backed out?
I had one of my bridesmaids back out but in not so many words. She kept avoiding me when i'm trying to order our dress, making snide coments about things, and generally being unenthusiastic.
She was given three deadlines to submit her dress$ and has been evasive with each. I shouldn't have to hunt you down for this! Either you want to be in or not. Its not like she doesn' t have the $$ all my BM are gainfully employed women ....she just lent the loser she was dating a ton of $. How about you lend him $200 less and buy your dress?
So my sis/MOH and I decided to write her off and order the dresses w/out her. Since she can't call to tell me even a mediocre excuse about why she cant buy her dress then I can't call her let her know she's out. This wedding stuff can get so darn annoying and crazy. Sorry to vent i've been holding that one in!

Awww so sorry, some people are inconsiderate and don't realize that the wedding doesn't revolve around them

Re: Remember when my bridesmaid backed out?
for my huge party the two giving me the problems are my sister and FH's sister
it definitely varies, b/c weddings seem to be bringing out the WORSE and BEST in people

Re: Remember when my bridesmaid backed out?
I'm going through something like this right now. One of my BM's just backed out, and did it by leaving me a voicemail on my cell phone, and has not contacted me since the VM. I was so upset about how cowardly and selfish that was, that I don't even feel like inviting her to the wedding anymore. I just feel like it would cause uneeded tension the day of the wedding. I mean this has definitely forever changed our friendship. What did you girls do when one of your BM's backed out? Would you still invite them to the wedding.

Such is life. She is miserable so she wants company..sorry not going there. I will extend the invite to her and still want her son to be my ring bearer but I don't know if she will allow him (yes she's that petty) She has pushed all her friends away w her behavior so at least I know its not all about her hating on me.
Now i'm in the same place you were...should I replace? I can think of one girl who i'd love to add who should have been there instead of her anyway.
