do you think this day will EVER get easier? even 20 years from now. . .i personally know that for ME it won't
I think it will.
The anniv. of Pearl Harbor isn't as hard to deal with as I'm sure it was many years ago.
that's true - but do you think that is true even for the people who lived through it or just for future generations?
I think it still stings (9/11) because it's still so fresh in our minds and we're still in the midst of a war and hostility and terrorism. Perhaps when those things subside, the easier it will be for it to become a day in history like Pearl Harbor.
Does that make sense??

totally does...
i kno my kids just wont get it
It'll be SO WEIRD when our kids and grandkids learn about it, the same way we learned about Pearl Harbor.... and things like that.
And when they get school assignments to speak to someone who was there, etc. That will be so strange.
oh man... i kno how tough it was for my grandpa to talk about the war. he jsut didnt talk.. he give me photos and that was it. (needless to say that was my paper!, and i didnt get it then but i get it now... ) i dont kno if i woudl be so willing to talk...
i have to see in 20 years

also, although pearl harbor was a huge tragedy and invasion on the american way of life etc, it was not IN ny... i dont think people outside of NY are effected the same we were are. it will always be painful for us b/c it happened in our backyards.

Re: Remembering 9/11
Kristen, this is SO thoughtful of you.
My prayer for today:
Dear Lord,
Please remember and keep close to your heart all of those families that were severely affected by those horrendous attacks on September 11, 2001. Please continue watching over the many children who lost a parent and please continue keeping an eye on our troops who are fighting for our freedom. But most of all, thank you for allowing all of the men and women who lost their lives trying to save the lives of the innocent into your kingdom.
Amen.

Girls it is so sad over here (I work in the WTC7) they have been reading the names of all the people that passed. I started tearing as soon as I got off the train.

It really hit me before coming in to work...I take the World Trade Center path train and there were barricades set up across the street, lined up with cops and fire fighters behind were a bunch of ppl. In front of the path station there were 3 ppl standing on top of something they were mimes or i dont know what, but one was a business woman with dust all over her, another was a soldier and another was a muslim. Plus St. Pauls chapel across the street was opened and there were tons of ppl there and all around the area
3 people- twins one was dressed as a soilder., suit and a muslim.
it hit me too.
