Re: remembering a beloved pet in a program?
What a great idea!!! we had to put our dog to sleep on halloween and before that, we thought that she would be in our wedding party b/c she was perfect!!! You could go onto a website that has program wording or write something like: In memory of: Grandpa Joe Grandma Mimi Fifi We love you and miss you and wish you were here to share this day with us. Love Bride and Groom

I think it's such a sweet idea. My kitty cat is still here but if he was not here I would do it...he is like FH's and my baby!

I don't see why not. Just maybe put 'and our beloved family dog Rover' instead of just Rover. That way people don't think Rover is a cousin or something! And I would put the animal at the end of the list - don't get me wrong I like animals but if you're going to remember your grandparents or other relatives I think they should go first.

thats why im wondering if i should word it separately..
like one part about the grandparents, then in another area about the parakeet...
fh says that the parakeet was like a son, and use to make jokes that he would be the best man...
so if i make one about the loved ones, grandfathers, then in another area how do i word the bird ?

Re: remembering a beloved pet in a program?
I am not the majority opinion here - but I don't think it's a great idea. I have two pets and I love them more than anything - but I don't think that animals should be grouped where you are remembering your grandparents - some relatives might not like this. Why don't you do something else to honor your pet? Instead of favors, we are planning on making a donation to the local animal shelter - where we got our pets. You could do something like that and make a nice scroll - saying 'IN loving memory of...' JMO

Re: remembering a beloved pet in a program?
i agree with Maribelle...I like the idea of including your pet, especially if it means a lot to you...but I think it needs to be separate or a bit lower key than what you'll say about your other deceased family members...I don't have any good ideas though..sorry!

i personally would not do it at all...but if you want to, i would take the advice of mrswask
