Remind your photographer of this!

Background -- I was at a friend's wedding a few weeks ago and we just got the link to all of the photos -- over 1000 of them.

The problem -- the photos stopped right after the cake cutting, and didn't even get any photos of the amazing Vienesse spread or ANY of the bridal party dancing during the last hour of the wedding. In fact, there was not ONE photo of about the half the bridal party on the dance floor, even though we were out there until after midnight.

So, make sure your photographer is planning on staying for the whole wedding!

I think in many cases you contract for a set number of hours and it is up to you to ask for overtime. A lot of photogs charge overtime if you want them to stay the whole night - it can get very pricey too. I wish I could have my photog until the end of the night (maybe I win the lotterty before the wedding) but it gets pricey when you are starting your day very early and have a gap in the afternoon.

your paying enough money they better stay for the whole thing. If they dint I feel bad b/c if my fiance gets a hold of him hell wish he stayed lol

most of the photographers will tell you that they will stay up to the cake cutting. I think we would have to mention if you we are having the vienese hour so they can take pictures of that.

i know a lot of photographers only stay for a certain amount of hours - then anything after that is OT and they get paid extra for that - i think that most people try to make it so that the photographer is their until cake cutting and then thats it - im going to try and time it so that our photographer is there for a little bit after cake but not sure, depends on the exact time we start - i only have 10 hours of coverage...

10 hours of coverage would have definitely worked for them. (This wedding was OOT so the name of the photographer is meaningless)

I know when I went to see photographers that I wanted them there from beginning to end. The last hour is when everyone starts getting really crazy!

I thought of this yesterday when talking about how long I have the photographers for. I want them to stay throughout the whole wedding! FH asked why I care about the viennese being photographed. I said because they usually make the display so beautiful. Thanks for reminding us this!
