Anyone know of a good place to get one installed in the East Northport, Huntington Commack area? Its for my mom's minivan for Christmas.

Try a BestBuy or Circuit City. I looked into getting it for hubby and both offer it.

I had mine installed by tone tunes in smithown. I haven't had any problems with it since I had it installed a year ago. They are located on jericho tpk in smithtown (in case you want to check them out).

Parkway Car Stereo installs them. There is one on Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon.

I recommend PC richards - the kits are on sale right now, and they'll install it there for you, as long as you go to a P.C. richards with a carport. I know the one on 347 (right across from Loew's Movie Theater) in stony brook has a carport, but the website is very specific also, and will tell you what location has a carport in your area. I got FH the same thing this year!
Please be advised, if it is a newer car and has a computer chip in the key, you will need to surrender a key to whoever installs the starter. If you have to buy this key, it can run about $75!!!

I went to get this yesterday, not realizing you can not have it installed on a 5 speed ! That sucks, they said some places do it, but it is dangerous, b/c you have to leave the car in gear to start it and too many incidents where the car drove off!

ooo i had no idea about that, but I guess it makes total sense. My sister wants it also, but I guess its not possible! thanks for the info
