I would talk about it if it's bothering you this much. Maybe you can compromise and he can get an ivory vest and you can take some pics with you guys matching (him without his jacket)? If it's really bothering you this much, I'd definitely at least bring it up.

Tell him that you are feeling traditional and that only the bride should be in ivory/white. See if he is really all that disappointed. I feel like sometimes FHs get their hearts set on something, but they don't really care. I don't think it will crush him if he has to wear a black tux. I agree with you on this. JMO

I would say that you really wanted to stand out as the bride in the ivory......also, maybe you can say its most traditional for the guy to be in a black tux and looking back at pics, you don't want him to regret wearing ivory?
Only reason I mention the pics is because my dad wore a BABY BLUE tux when my parents got married....it was 'in' (I GUESS) back in 1977 but clearly, thats not the case now. he always says he should have stuck to the black to look traditional.....too late for that pops!

Re: FH's Tux Request...kinda long...taking this down soon
Maybe I am a snot but this is one thing that I would have absolute VETO power about. If my FH wanted a white/ivory tux I would sorry if I sound like a b itch but flat out tell him no. I would say how I am the bride and this is the one day in your entire life you are in the white/ivory dress of your dreams and want to stand out.
Again, Maybe I am a b-zilla a little about this but I think it is a valid thing. Let him have some say on other things and even if he doesn't offer keep asking his opinion. Then get him white linen pants and a nice white shirt to wear to dinner one night on the HM (if you are going tropical) that's what I would do.

I think that you should definitely tell him as lovingly as you can that you don't think it's a good idea but that you're willing to go with him to try one on. Once he tries it on, I don't think he'll like it as much and if he still likes it, tell him you'd rather he be in a black tux.

Girl, my FH wants a grey tux. I say ok for the guys but not sure about him but he hasn't really had a say in the whole wedding so far so as much as it bothers me I am going to leave him alone. Hopefully he goes and doen't like it anymore when he tries it on. I wanted him to get white but hey its his choice.

i think you should def tell him how you feel.. holding it in is only gonna make you feel worse and will upset him when he finds out how you really feel. just say it as nice as possible.. he'll understand.

I would totally tell him. Or I would find another tux that you love in black and really push that one.
FH wanted a light colored tux too at first. I convinced him against it and he is actually happier now!
