renting a chuppah?

renting a chuppah?

Has anyone rented a chuppah from a different vendor (not your florist)? Some of the florists are quoted exorbitant prices because they have to build one from scratch. Just wondering if I should get it from someone else? TIA!

Our Rabbai suggested we use the Chuppah that belongs to the Temple. It is hand made and beautiful! See if you can do that?

I'm not getting married at the Temple, so she said I couldn't use it. Is your Temple letting you borrow it or are you getting married there?

Did you ask your RH if they have one? I got married at Jericho Terrace and they had one already...

We arent getting married at the Temple either. When we met with the Rabbai in the Temple in out town, I asked him about it because it was very expensive to get it from the florist. He offered to let us use it for our ceremony. He is bringing it to our RH, which is where we are having our Ceremony!

our Rabbi (not in a temple, coming to RH) offered to bring his 'hand held' chuppah for our use. I wanted the more draped style chuppah with tulle and flowers adorned, so I went through the florist.

FM me for more info about Hidden Essence if you want!

Most florists have one already made - but the floral decoration is expensive. So... I'm not sure why they would tell you they need to BUILD one.

You could DIY your own.... my cousin made hers - it came out beautifully.

I'm using a traditional hand held one that my florist is letting me borrow for free.

Yes ours is hand held too.
I kinda liked the idea of asking close male family members to hold it, kind of an honor, IMO
