Repost '06: Going to look at dresses Friday, maybe

I might go looking at dresses on Friday. I need to pick up shoes for bridesmaid duty at David's and then head to Macy's for the bridesmaid fitting, so I figured I should maybe combine that with looking for a wedding gown for MY wedding. But I am scared! I don't want to be extra depressed about how fat I look and the dresses not fitting. And I really don't want to be dressing in front of a bunch of people. Embarassing! Ahhh!

Any moral support, ladies?

first of all , RELAX!!!

you won't be dressing in front of other people because they have dressing rooms at macy's. if you don't want to leave the room, don't!

i was SOOOO worried about not fitting in the samples. some fit, some barely closed, and others barely went on! everyone goes through it.

relax, enjoy yourself and don't worry what ANYONE else looks like. they'll be worried about themselves in the dress, not you!

Exactly what she said!!!!!

I just went for my first time last Saturday!!! It was fun... My Best friend (aka BM) and I had a great time... I have gained ALOT of weight this year, and I thought it wouldn't be fun, but it was!!!!! Have a great time and don't worry about anything!!!!!!!

I agree! Enjoy yourself and it'll be a good experience to start getting an idea of what styles flatter you the most! Good Luck!

Okay, thanks ladies. I'll just make sure I take deep breaths (and suck it in and hold it! )

Like everyone else said....I fully agree.

Also, the ladies (most of them anyway) have a way to make you feel like that princess bride you've always been dreaming of being when you try on the dresses.

I'm sure it will go fine. Try to sneak some pictures. Have fun! Relax!
