Repost form NWR: Nassau County Police

Original post by olivia30

Anyone who is a NCPD officer or whose DH/FH is, can you please tell me how long it may take to be called for the academy. MY FH just took the test yesterday and he is confindent that he did well and very anxious to start.

I told him it may take a year, but he doesn't think it is that long.

TIA

i believe suffolk is only taking 400 of the 29,000 that applied.

and the only way you'll get into suffolk or nassau is if you have something they want. FH thinks he got about a 99 on his suffolk test but he basically didnt get added points because he's not a minority and he's not a war veteran. he's already NYPD too but i guess it doesnt matter. it would be amazing if he got in but thats almost impossible (and my fh is incredibly smart and has great morals)

Yes... unfortunately you are right - it could take up to a year. A friend of mine is taking her test as we speak!

Good luck to your FH!!

Thanks! FH said he was surprised to see so many women taking the test. Typical man response

I just spoke to BM who took the test today - she said that the people who took the test in June will be getting a response in December, so she figures that those who took the test this month will be hearing something by February... and after that starts the medical tests and the academy...

How often does Nassau give the test?

I'm not sure of that - I think it's the same as Suffolk... but I'll find out!
