I know this is going to sound weird, but can someone that has them post a pic of your nails? It is very expensive and I want to see what they look like before I commit myself to it

I dont have a pic, but in my opinion permanent french doesnt look as good as a regual french manicure. The regular one looks more classy

Marymoon I know you live around me (Howard Beach) and I called the main number for Light Concept Nails and no one in Queens does it, they are all located in the city, LI, or Brooklyn. The couple of places that I called in Brooklyn said a full set will run $90.00 and from what I hear you only go for fill-ins every 3-4 weeks.

Wow...that's not bad though, if you only have to go every 2 weeks...I'm in the 5th day of a regular french manicure, and while I LOVE it..I hate going back every week to get it done again.

I know, same here. I'm figuring that for a month they both (regular tips and the LCN) come out to the same amount of money.
Where do you get your nails done now? I used to go to Angela's on Crossbay.

I just go to this little tiny place called Diva nails on 101 Av in Ozone Park (right near SMGH). They do a great job and it's really inexpensive. As of now I don't have tips, and it's only $6 for a manicure, $9 for french. I think tips are $30

I go to a place called Rose and Co. They charge 40 for a full set of permanent french. They do not look cheesy at all if you get them to do the white part as thin as possible. They look cheesy IMO when they are all thick and the white takes up half the nail. They are in Smithtown on Townline Rd. Ask for bloncd Debbie, Rose or Peggy. Also they use top quality products.

Good things about the permanent french:
1.You can get them done a couple of days before your wedding and the white tips won't chip. 2. They will last throughout your honeymoon. Again, no chips. 3. If you have short nail beds (the skin colored part of your real nail) then tips can elongate them, thus making your hands/fingers look longer and often thinner.
But maintaining them is a pain. It takes so long during the 'pink and white' fill-ins and unless you get someone skilled with the drill (which I recommend over them filing it down by hand) it can come out wavy/shaky. It also can damage your natural nail underneath.
I used to do it, but I can't be bothered to sit for the fill-ins. But I'm going to do it again for my wedding.
