I am second guessing my photog so much. I have been since I bboked them. I absolutely LOVE the package I got, it has more than I have seen any other place offer, but I keep on seeing not so great revies. I love the photojournalistic style and I even have a 2nd photog. that does that but, I feel like it is still too traditional for my taste. I already put down $800 that is NON-REFUNDABLE, I guess worse comes to worse I could eat that 800, I couldn't tell fh of course, he doesn't even know who the hell we booked anyway. What should I do, should I meet w/ others and see if I get a better feeling w/ them or suck it up and hope for the best w/ the one I have and not lose $800 Please give me your advice, I am freaking
Who would you recommend?

Re: repost from 08, please help
hmmmmm i would say to start with THEM and give them an opportunity to put your mind at ease... mention you've seen some negative reviews and are concerned... obviously they'll tell you 'that bride was a lunatic' or similar but stand your ground...
The non-refundable $800 would totally s*ck, BUT there might be a waiver if they rebook the date -- a strong possibility with your date over a year away... If they are reasonable, they will OFFER you $$ in the event they rebook, which could be a nice thing to offset the NEGATIVE REVIEWS THEY'RE GETTING on LIW **hint hint**
If you're REALLY uncomfortable, offer $200 for the meeting(s) you've already had and see what they say...

You should FM GettinHutched(Tara). She had a very similar situation. I'm sure she could give you some great advice

I was in the same situation. I had a $500 non refundable deposit down on a photographer. I kept hearing iffy things about them and was really nervous. I ended up eating the $500 and booking with 12th Night and I've stopped being nervous. IMO, losing the money was worth the peace of mind.

Thanks guys, I already made an appointment w/ a photog. that I really like for next week, so if all goes well I will book w/ him and cancel my old one. I wonder if they will give me anything back since my wedding is a year away
